Where you are and what days and times are you open?

We are behind the Otara Town Centre in the car park on Watford and Newbury Streets and Te Puke o Tara Community Centre hall is also on Newbury Street.  We open on Saturday mornings from 6am to lunchtime.

What is the cost of a stall?

$22.50 per stall inside the Community Centre (we provide tables and chairs)

$17.50 per stall selling second hand clothing and second hand household items inside hall

$40.90 per stall in car park (must supply your own table, chairs and gazebo)

$22.50 per stall selling second hand clothing and second hand household items in car park

$56.20 per stall to sell fruit and vegetables

We accept payments by cash or eftpos.

What is the size of a stall?

The size of a single car park site is 6m x 2.3m and the size of an inside stall is 75cm x 1.8m.

What am I not allowed to sell?

  • 2nd hand shoes or inline skates previously worn
  • Eggs
  • Meat or poultry fresh, frozen or canned
  • Seafood fresh, frozen or canned
  • Food with fresh cream
  • Mayonnaise (Island potato salad)
  • Sausage sizzles
  • Food products expired by its use by date
  • Canned or bottled food/drinks without labels
  • Food that is not properly sealed or wrapped
  • Airgun firearms
  • Weapons e.g. knives, swords, etc
  • Copyright music CDs or DVDs
  • Copyright movies
  • Alcohol
  • Smoking paraphernalia


What if I want to sell food?

You must have an Auckland Council Licence to sell food that is prepared in a registered kitchen and food from a mobile operation.

What if I want to sell homemade cakes and biscuits on behalf of a charitable organisation?

Charitable organisations must have a Charity Permit issued by Auckland Council.  You can contact Auckland Council on (09) 262 8900 and ask to speak to Environmental Services.

How can I apply for a casual stall?

You can ring, fax or email our office and your name goes on our casual list for Saturday.

What do I do to get a casual stall?

We ask that you be at Te Puke o Tara Community Centre hall between 5.30-6am for a car park stall and 6.30am for an inside stall on Saturday morning;

On very busy days be prepared to wait for about one hour for our Supervisor to find you a site.

Can you guarantee I will get a stall?

There are no guarantees but we will do our best to get you in.

What about becoming a permanent stallholder?

Fill in our application form and your name will be added to our waiting list.
